Whomever reported my pirate brushes (which were sourced from *PUBLIC DOMAIN* images) as a copyright violation, I challenge you to stand up and own up to your mistake.

Just upload those brushes again. I doubt he/she will report it again. ^^

That won't do any good, everyone can complain about everything, the problem is with the dA staff member who reviewed the complaint and approved the deletion.

You know, if ~pookstar only want the brushes online, she can post them in a lot of other places (blog and such).

Wasn't me, I'm rather fond of openclipart.org, having works on there myself.

Although it doesn't surprise me that they don't know what Public Domain means, I was trying to get them to put that as an option on their licenses page.

you know, that's a great idea. I really wish public domain was an option. I think they finally updated the CC licenses to 3.0,r ight? I don't remember. They were 2.5 for the longest, longest time after 3.0 came out.

Well what can you say, these folks are from the traditional areas of Media production and aren't into the whole social collaboration yet.
